Our Big Tent

We find ourselves at an interesting moment. Hillary is NOT at the moment our nominee. She may or may not be on the ticket, and for many of you (and us) that doesn't matter. It is incredibly dismaying, disgusting, galling, unbelievable that EVEN IN VICTORY the Obamaites continue to ferociously attack her. Unfortunately, we can expect those attacks to continue unabated until the time arrives that Obama has chosen his running mate. The Obamaites DO NOT want Hillary on the ticket and they will continue to do the vile things that have brought us all together. What they don't understand is that these cruel vicious attacks only firm up our resolve to never vote for him. EVER!!!!

We have had over 500,000 people visit womenforfairpolitics.com. Here's who we are:

1) 75% have said that no matter what they are voting for McCain and many state they they are leaving or have already left the Democratic party

2) 10% will write in Hillary's name

3) 10% will vote for the ticket if Hillary is the VP nominee

4) 5% will not vote at all

PLEASE KNOW that despite our diversity of views on how we will express our dismay over the way Hillary was treated, we all want the same thing--------to make sure that NO ONE ever has to go through what Hillary has been put through EVER AGAIN. Most of us feel that the Democrats need to be taught a lesson for their silence on the subject of sexism and the peril they will find themselves in for ignoring their most loyal base of voters. The good news is that there are so many of us. WE ARE A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH. We are in a unique position to carry out an important message.

I for one, believe strongly that when it comes to sexism, we will continue to be treated savagely the way Hillary was treated if we don't speak up now and always. For whatever you think about Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton,
they have helped our society to define the parameters of what is and is not acceptable behavior and speech when it comes to racism. We need to do that for sexism. I honestly believe that many sexist acts are done innocently out of ignorance. We cannot assume that people realize how offensive they are being unless we bring it to their attention-----over and over again.

Please help us develop the most effective strategy for using our strength to make a difference.Come to the womenforfairpolitics.com website and make your voice heard. The shame of the election of 2008 must never be repeated. Welcome to our big tent!!!!

Well written! I am a black woman that did not like what the dnc /obama did to Hillary. I agree with you we should us our strength to make sure this never happens again. I will never support a selected not ELECTED Candidate no matter what the DNC wants to do in pretense of united party. WE need to speak out and I for one will do that on election day, my VOTE will count and it will be COUNTED against the DNC and COUNTED for MCCain. This is because I think he is a better candidate and the leader needed at this time. He record (not Obama) shows that he can get things done and works with people no matter party to get things done. McCain Judgment can not be questioned unlike OBAMA who gave up his church after American had a snap shot to his core believes in the name of politics. His pastor/uncle or mentor was right Obama is like any politician that will say or do anything to be elected. Well, this is one vote he will not take away from me. The DNC can award him the uncommitted/ take delegates from Hillary but this VOTE in November will not be taken away, it will count and it will count against OBAMA, Howard Dean and the DNC.

I'm curious: have the Hillary women thought about boycotting the media "talking heads" and their sponsors, who have belittled her run for the Presidency? Example: Chris Matthews, who so gleefully sniggered each night; or Keith Obermann who is an A***? And how about that Jack Cafferty, who thinks he has all the answers? Even Jay Leno has made demeaning cracks. Would anyone have done this to Obama? I think as a group we could be a powerful force to make some things happen. Just wondering.... Maybe this is OUR time.

I agree. I would like nothing better than to get Chris Mathews, Keith Doberman, Jay Leno, Dick Morris, Jack Cafferty, and others of their ilk, off our screens and into some other jobs. I've written to CNN, MSNBC, and Fox, but, of course, have received no response. If anyone has any ideas, I'm ready.

Excellent point Delta! The sponsors would be very interested in hearing from women who will not buy whatever the talking heads are selling. I think this may very well be 'Our Time'!!

I have not watched MSNBC or CNN for a couple of months due to their treatment of Senator Clinton. It just makes me sick if I do turn it on. Also, A couple of months ago I wrote to Newsweek and complained about Jonathon Alter for writing an article in Newsweek against her and saying that she should get out of the race.I'll never read anything he writes again or listen to anything he says. You could say I have boycotted all three of those media sources.

Ditto to Delta's idea. A boycot of sponser's products by the millions of people who supported Hillary would certainly get their attention and maybe kick some of these disrespectful clods off the air. How about it gang - good idea? This sstrategy has worked many times before in other cases. Hit the sponsers in the pocketbook and they'll stand up and take notice.

I'm definitely writing Hillary's name on my ballot in Nov. I was thourghly disgusted by the way the DNC handled the 5-31-08 hearings. How can you give delegates to someone that was not even on the ticket. Hillary's fate was determined before those hearings started. Hillary =still has my support now and on Nov. 4
YOU GO GIRL!!

Obama treated Hillary with the utmost respect while she made statements supporting McCain and calling for Obama's assassination. I don't despise her in the least as she was just doing what she thought she had to get elected.

But now here's the situation. Obama won. It is very sad that all Obama and Hillary supporters can't put aside their Minor differences and band together.

McCain is obviously not the right direction for our country and it's time that we do an analysis of where we would like our country to be and if we really want four more years of the same policies that has failed our country for the last eight.

McCain's ethics is horrendous as is his voting record for womens' rights. He left his former wife after she became disfigured in a car accident (and after cheating on her several times). He then was involved in the Keating Five corruption charges where he also found himself cheating on his current wife! Or maybe you would like to take a look at the team of lobbyists and the huge donations generated ($2 million from oil companies alone!) And you wonder why McCain offers nothing more than drilling more (and not even using our current reserves). McCain has already sold America's interests to the top bidder.
